Our Child Development Program helps young children become enthusiastic learners in ways that are best for them at their own pace. Care and development take place within a 1500 sq. ft. child development center in areas equipped for infant, toddler and pre-school activities . Our staff to child ratio allows for loving care, close supervison and hands-on educational experiences. Licensed child care is also provided on-site. (Fees may apply)
Our teachers know that parents are their children’s first and most important teachers. Each day we invite parents to participate in a “Parent/Child Activity' that supports children’s cognitive, physical, and social/emotional development. The classroom environment allows families to have fun while learning together. Activities for parents to share follow Parents as Teachers (PAT); a nationally certified model on early development and activities
SCHOOL READINESS
Every three months staff and parents work together to evaluate the child’s developmental milestones. With this snapshot of a child’s learning abilities, the staff plans learning activities that best prepare the child to be ready for school success.
ACTIVITIES
For classroom activities and special activities with partners such as the Kent County Library, H.H. Garnett Elementary School and the Judy Center see calendar.
COMMUNITY
Our children are involved in the care of the Kent Family Center community garden. By planting seeds and caring for the garden children learn the importance of their environment.
